Privacy Policy

Session Tracker (the "App") is an Android application for tracking Irish-traditional music sessions, tunes, and recordings, published by Musical Mycology, LLC ("we," "us"). This policy explains what data the App handles and what it does with it.

Summary

The App stores everything on your device. Nothing you create in the App — tunes, sessions, recordings, photos, videos, players, locations, settings — is sent to the developer or to any third-party server, except for the single case described under "Network" below. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking.

Data the App stores on your device

• Tune metadata (titles, types, keys, notes, learning stage)
• Session records (date, location, attendees, tunes played)
• Tunelists and tunebooks
• Audio recordings, photos, and video clips you capture in the App
• Location records you create
• Player records (names, and optionally phone numbers and emails you import)
• App settings and preferences

All of the above lives in private application storage on the device (JSON files plus media files). It is included in standard Android device backups if and only if you have device backup enabled in your Android settings.

Permissions the App requests, and why

• Camera — to take photos and videos of locations and sessions, when you tap a "Take photo" or "Record video" control. The App does not capture from the camera in the background.
• Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO) — to record audio of a session, when you start a recording. The App does not record in the background.
• Read contacts — only used when you tap "Import from contacts" while creating or editing a player. The App reads the name, and optionally the phone number and email, of the contact you select.
• Write contacts — only used when you tap "Add to contacts" on a player you created in the App. The App writes the player's name (and any phone/email you entered) into your device's contact list.
• Internet — used for one purpose, described below.

Network

When you search for a place name while creating or editing a Location, the App sends the search string you typed to photon.komoot.io, a free geocoding service operated by Komoot, in order to suggest matching places. The App sends only the text you typed; it does not send your device location, identifiers, or any other data. Komoot's privacy practices are governed by their own privacy policy.

No other network traffic is generated by the App.

Sharing

Musical Mycology, LLC does not collect, receive, or share any of your data. The App contains no third-party SDKs for analytics, advertising, crash reporting, attribution, or tracking.

Children

The App is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from anyone.

Data retention and deletion

Because all data lives on your device, you can delete it at any time by uninstalling the App or by clearing the App's storage from Settings → Apps → Session Tracker → Storage.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will appear at this URL with a new effective date.
